Photographing Weddings at The Lodge
The Lodge is a photographer’s venue. The heritage timber, the surrounding gardens, the natural light through the windows and the hinterland backdrop all contribute to a gallery that has genuine warmth and character. I have photographed weddings here and the results never disappoint.
My approach is documentary, I am there to capture the day as it unfolds, not to direct it. At The Lodge, that means moving quietly through the ceremony, the portraits in the gardens and surrounding property, and the reception inside those beautiful old walls. I follow the light, I follow the moments, I stay out of the way.
The Illawarra Hinterland
Jamberoo sits in the heart of the Illawarra, between the escarpment and the coast. The surrounding landscape is lush, green and deeply Australian, rolling hills, towering eucalyptus and a softness to the light that makes photography here a genuine pleasure.
During portraits, we often use the property grounds as well as the surrounding paddocks and treelines. The variety within a short distance means your gallery will have range without feeling contrived.

I am based in Wollongong and photograph weddings across the Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands. The Lodge in Jamberoo is one of several Illawarra hinterland venues I work at regularly, alongside Greyleigh in Kiama and others throughout the region.
