The landscape around La Belle Valle is the dominant feature of any wedding day here. The towering forest, the river light, the mist that rolls through the valley in the mornings and evenings, all of it creates photographic conditions that are genuinely extraordinary.
My documentary approach works naturally in this environment. There is no need to manufacture atmosphere at La Belle Valle, it is everywhere. My job is simply to place you within it authentically and let the day happen.
The Kangaroo Valley Light
Kangaroo Valley light is distinctly different from coastal or highland light, it has a green quality from the rainforest canopy that gives photographs a lush, saturated depth. In the late afternoon, the light breaks through the escarpment in ways that are difficult to predict and impossible to replicate. I always arrive ready to work with whatever the valley gives us on the day.
